any second.
“Well, thank you.”
Jasmine smiled as, deftly, she extracted her hand from Parra’s grasp. Michael was impressed despite himself. Normally, once Parra had hold of a woman, even just her hand like that, she didn’t get away easily.
“Mikey didn’t tell me he had such charming friends.”
On her lips and in that take-me-to-bed voice, the silly pet name didn’t sound quite so bad. The naughty little look she shot him pushed his anger with Parra right out of his mind.
Parra shrugged and kept up his charming smile as one of Jasmine’s friends called out from the other side of the bar. As Jasmine waved, he leaned around behind her and slipped Michael the room key. “The others are going back with their ladies. They have places of their own.”
“What about you?”
Parra shrugged, “The night isn’t over yet.”
Michael had to grin. Much as they all got along, then drove each other nuts, then got along again, the squad was a family. For some of them it was the only family they had. Tucking the plastic room key into his pants, he gave Parra a one-armed hug. “Be safe, OK? I’ll call you later to check in. Answer your damn phone this time.”
“Yeah, will do. Oh…blonde on her own. Have fun, man. Catch you on the flip side!” And just like that, Parra headed over to the other side of the bar.
Chapter Three
“He seems…nice.” Jasmine ventured, watching Parra’s retreating back for a moment before returning her attention back to Michael. “A little intense, but nice.”
“Yeah, he’s intense all right. Let’s get outta here before he rethinks and tries to come back.” Wrapping an arm around her waist, he walked her out to the parking lot. She was still unsteady on her feet, something that seemed to be getting worse, not better, in the fresh air.
“We’ll take my car. Best you not take any chances driving.”
“Hmmm, yes. No! Hey, you had as many as I did!”
She narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously. The expression scrunched her nose up, absolutely fascinating Michael. He pulled her closer into his embrace as they reached his car, turning her so that her back was against the Charger.
She went easily, her large dark eyes trusting as she looked up at him. Oh hell darlin’, don’t go trusting me. I’m not that kind of guy. The parking lot was dark, particularly the corner he’d parked in, perfect conditions for what he had planned.
With gentle fingers, he lifted her chin, looking down into her face for a moment. She was tiny, but fit perfectly in his arms, as though she’d been made for him. Abruptly, he cut off that line of thought. Tonight was about one thing, and one thing only.
The moon overhead peeked out from behind the clouds, the silvery light rendering her skin paler and her hair darker. In that instant, she looked ethereal, her delicate features highlighted by the moonlight…like a fairy princess caught in the open. And she was all his.
With reverence, he lowered his lips and brushed them over hers. The instant he did so, the light touch wasn’t enough. It wasn’t ever going to be enough. With a groan, he pressed her back against the car and deepened the kiss. She tasted like sunlight and lemonade on a hot day—sweet, hot, and tart all at the same time—and absolutely addictive.
She arched against him as his hands traced over her body. Her movements mirrored his as though they were drawn to each other, like opposite poles. He parted from her sinfully full lips and kissed his way down her neck, feeling a soft moan escape her lips.
Her hands smoothed up his sides. Her fingers latched into the fabric of his shirt and pulled him closer. She whimpered, a soft little sound designed to drive him mad, as he nibbled at her ear and down the soft skin of her throat. Wrapping a leg around him, she pressed her hips tight against him as he boosted her onto the hood. Her small gasp was audible in the darkness as his rigid cock pressed hard against her.
