was a moment of silence and Venice noticed Craig was once again staring. He discreetly whispered, âVenice, youâre definitely wearing that skirt.â
She crossed her legs and replied, âThank you.â
In a weird way, Venice felt like she was cheating on Jarvis. Theyâd been together for so long that it felt strange hanging out with another guy. Especially one who was making her body loose control the way Craig was.
Galen and Sidney found them not long afterwards. Monique also finally came over to take a breather. A few minutes later, Galenâs other friends, Spoonie and a couple of other guys, joined them. Venice introduced Galen, Sidney, and Craig to Monique. Galen also introduced his friends to everyone. As they talked, everyone beganto get to know each other better. They danced and laughed together and Venice felt great that her first night on campus was so cool. Galenâs other friends seemed to admire Venice and Monique very much. Craig knew them and, in a sly way, made sure they didnât get too friendly with Venice in particular. He didnât mind them dancing with her. He just made sure there werenât any one-on-one conversations. Heâd made up his mind that he wanted Venice for himself.
A couple of hours passed and the party began to wind down. Sidney told Galen that she was tired and ready to go. Monique was still macking with several of the guys. Craig socialized with several friends whoâd returned for the new school year. Galen asked Venice if they needed a ride back to their dorm. It was about two-thirty and getting a little cool.
Craig spoke up. âGalen, if Venice doesnât mind, Iâll drive her and Monique back to the dorm.â
Venice was taken aback by his forwardness.
Galen asked, âIs it okay with you, Venice?â
âItâs fine with me.â She glanced at Craig. âI donât want you to have to go out of your way.â
Craig stood up and said, âI donât mind.â
Monique was talking to Spoonie and the other guys. She seemed to be having a great time with them. She came over and said, âRoomie, Iâll see you a little later. Iâm going to hang out a little longer.â
Venice responded, âOkay, Monique. Iâm headed to the room. Iâll see you later.â She stood and turned to Craig. âWell, I guess we can leave.â
Galen and Sidney walked in the same direction as Venice and Craig. When they reached the parking lot, Galen leered at Venice. âPage me when you get to the room.â
Craig laughed. âIâm not going to kidnap her, man. You donât have to worry about her. Iâll take special care of Venice.â
Galen jokingly said, âDonât make me have to put a cap in your ass.â
Sidney hollered, âGalen, unlock the door! Venice, donât pay your brother any attention. You know heâs crazy. See you later, Craig.â
Craig opened the door for Venice and said, âGoodnight, Sidney.â
Venice was feeling nervous once again. She realized that she was going to be alone with Craig. She wanted to act mature and not make a fool of herself. Craig had a very nice sports utility vehicle. Venice complimented it by saying, âYour truckâs very nice.â
Craig pulled out the parking lot and grinned at her. âThank you.â He reached down to turn on some music and slightly brushed her leg. âExcuse me.â
She smiled at him. âNo harm done.â
âDo you like jazz?â
Venice looked straight ahead and answered, âYes, itâs my favorite.â
âSo, Taylor, are you hungry?â
Venice shyly said, âNot really.â
He turned down one of the streets on campus. âIf you are, I donât mind taking you to get a bite to eat. Thereâs a place just a few blocks from campus that stays open all night.â
âMaybe another time. Iâm a little tired tonight, with the long
