as evidence of the crime.â
âCanât you leave just one of the Triceratops Pops CDs?â Cam asked. âThatâs why I went to Ernieâs.â
âPlease,â Barry said. âLeave us just one of those.â
The officer gave Barry one of the Triceratops Pops CDs. Barry gave it to Cam.
âThe case is sticky with watermelon juice,â Barry said. âBut you can wash that off. The CD inside isnât damaged.â
Cam took money from her pocket and said, âIâll pay for it.â
âNo you wonât,â Barry said. âBoth of you are heroes. That CD is a reward for helping to catch the thief. Come to the store and Iâm sure my boss will reward you with more CDs.â
Eric asked, âCan we get a Ripe Banana Band CD?â
Barry said, âOf course.â
Cam looked at Barryâs watch.
âWe canât go back to the store now,â she said. âItâs late. We have to meet my father by the bank.â
âWell,â Barry said, âyou can come back to Ernieâs anytime and claim your reward. Iâll even introduce you to Ernie. Heâll want to meet both of you.â Barry smiled. âAnd donât worry. Even if you wait a long time to come back to the store, Iâll remember you. I have a good memory, too.â
