given her the experience of a lifetime. Shook’s scent lingered on her pillow and she breathed it in feeling slightly guilty over missing his presence already.
“Looks like our best man left quite an impression,” Blaze said with a light laugh.
She turned her head to the side. “You’re awake.”
“Yeah…and you’re still basking in afterglow. A threesome wasn’t so bad, now was it?”
“Your friend made it much easier than I expected. He is very charming.”
“He’s interested in an encore before flying back to England. How do you feel about that?”
“I don’t know. I’ll think about it. Why did he leave without saying goodbye?”
“He didn’t want to wake you.” He slid closer and propped himself on one elbow staring down with sparkling blue eyes. “Just one more time, babe…for me? I had an awesome time last night. You were a completely different woman.”
“Sure you want to marry me? Maybe you’re trying to make me into somebody I’m not.”
“Ah, don’t be like that, baby. We all had fun and you seemed really into it.”
“Yes, it was fun and I did it as a special favor because he’s your best friend. But when he takes off, what if you decide to invite another man into our bed? Is this something you’re going to want more often, now that I’ve given in once?” She began to worry that he might be preparing her to entertain clients this way to gain their business. “Are you using Shook to pave the way for others?”
“Sapphire!” He raked one hand through curly brown hair. “No, darling, I simply wanted to have some fun while Shook’s in town. He usually doesn’t have time to visit much.”
After studying his face, she relaxed a bit. “I need a shower. I’ll think about it.”
“Well, can you let me know today before he takes off again?”
“I’ll call you on my lunch break. Is that soon enough?”
He nodded with an excited grin. “Thanks, babe.”
“I didn’t say yes…” She arched her brows in a discerning look. “Yet…”
“I knew he’d charm you.” Blaze laughed with obvious confidence.
She playfully swatted him with a pillow. “You’re bad.”
“And you love it. I saw the wildness come out in you last night.”
Unable to offer a rebuttal she retreated to the shower. Recollections of Shook floated through her mind. She couldn’t deny another night with the tall and mysteriously alluring man more than intrigued her. The way he’d stared into her eyes with those dark smoldering pools had stirred her deep inside. And his long black hair falling around broad shoulders in gorgeous waves of ebony luster only added to his sinfully delicious appeal.
She had a hard time believing such a man was still single. Perhaps he’s between relationships and seeking to unwind. Blaze had always spoken highly of him and how he respected women—an honorable man and choosy in whom he dated. Had he not come with such an esteemed reputation she doubted her ability to engage in the wild romp.
She trusted her fiancé and didn’t feel concerned that they hadn’t used protection. Surely Blaze would’ve insisted had he felt any possible risk. No, he’d never place me in harm’s way. Perhaps another night with the two of them wouldn’t be so bad. After all, he was their best man and would soon be taking off again. She’d like the chance to become better acquainted.
Ha! She laughed to herself. How better acquainted can we be? Face it, you’re in lust with the man! After towel drying, she dressed for her day. They had another big order for today, a bridal shower for a politician’s daughter. She welcomed the busyness to keep her focus off Shook, at least for now. The potent effect he had on her senses felt troubling as she too, would soon be walking down the aisle.

Lunch arrived before she realized how fast the morning had passed. Sapphire and her boss, Marge had been working feverishly to fill the large order for centerpieces. She loved her work and hoped
