loved . . . dark and mysterious, with eyebrows close set to his deep-set eyes, just like Deaconâs. His muscular chest glistened like golden hills in the sunset. She was mesmerized as she watched his toned muscles flexing, filling her imagination with wild desires.
She put her sunglasses back on as well as her headphones. She pretended to ignore him as âRude Boyâ by Rihanna resonated in her ears. She couldnât take her eyes off of him, but he never even looked her way! She thought this captivating college boy was too young for her, so she disregarded him and picked up her book to read. She tried to focus, but the distraction was simply too much. She couldnât take her mind off his beautiful body for long. Peeking over her book, she studied his physique once more, tingling again and just wanting to grab, perhaps a part of him.
Maybe it wasnât such a good idea to come to the beach today , she thought in retrospect. After all, a private pool may have offered a more inviting atmosphere. She wasnât used to having a guyignore her and it made her feel old and invisible. She decided to leave. She got up, grabbed her chair, towel, and beach bag, slipped on her flip flops and headed for the car. Then a hand from behind touched her shoulder. She felt like sheâd been hit by lightning. She turned around, and it was him, her appetizing college boy. He had removed his shades and his eyes were even better than sheâd imagined. They were the darkest brown eyes sheâd ever seen and she wanted to surrender to them. She coyly looked up at him. âHello.â Her voice quivered.
âYou dropped your book,â he said, handing it to her with a grin.
Her cheeks flushed as she tilted her head and meekly replied, âThank you.â She reached for the book, but he didnât let it go.
âAnd you forgot me too,â he said. He took the chair from her hand and walked her to the car. He opened the door for her and bent down to kiss her so she offered her cheek. âIâd love to see you sometime. My nameâs Todd.â
âItâs nice to meet you, Iâm London. What a coincidence, meeting Todd at Todâs Point Beach.â She was surprised at her own quavering voice. âSure,â she responded, extending her hand. âWhen?â
Her stomach clenched as he captured her in a steamy gaze. âWell, Iâm free right now if youâre not busy?â
âIâm famished,â London said as she regained her composure. âIâm just going home to change and eat dinner if youâd care to join me?â
âSure, Iâll follow you. He paused for a second and looked down at himself as if to remember. âIâm all sandy from the beach, though.â
She smiled. âYou can shower at my place.â
He climbed into a 1953 red Corvette, lowered the whiteconvertible top, and fell in line behind her. London studied him in the rearview, remembering when Deacon had followed her home. Her heart fluttered, but she shook off Deaconâs image and diverted her attention back to Todd. He was gorgeous, the wind whipping through his dark hair. A feeling of insatiability increased between her legs. As they approached the estate, she pushed the button to open the gates.
Todd followed her through the entrance and down the driveway to the back of the house. She got out of her car and he followed her up the steps to the door as he took in the manicured grounds of the Château dâAmour.
âWow, this really is some place! Itâs beautiful,â he said.
âThanks. I love it here. Youâll find a bathroom downstairs. Iâll wait up here for you. I hope you like grilled ham and cheese sandwiches.â She smiled as she pointed toward the stairway.
He grinned and followed her directions. She went to the kitchen and organized the food. Moments later, she felt a hand on her back. She jumped, startled, and then smiled
