and spoon in his sink, then spun around to look at him. "Do you know how long the storm is supposed to last?"
"Should be done by morning. It isn't a big one, just dropping lots of snow."
She followed him out to the living room. Too close. He could smell her scent of peaches. He loved peaches. Great for pie and jam.
If he stopped suddenly, she would run into him. Her breasts would nudge his lower back.
Damn. He had to go to bed. Now.
"I'll get the sheets. You can wait here."
He stopped before his linen closet to catch his breath. He had to adjust himself. His friend had woken up, and he didn't want to be denied.
But he would be. His lustful thoughts would remain just that. No woman, and especially no woman who wanted to be as star.
With sheets in hand and his dick back in its place, he entered the living room. She stood there looking a little lost. She'd crossed her arms loosely over her breasts, which he could still see through the large shirt he'd given her.
    Damn, damn, damn.
"Here," he said, then handed her the bedclothes. "I'll see you in the morning."
He backed out before he could say or do anything else.

CHAPTER FOUR

Gemma watched him go, her mouth hanging open. What had she done?
"I don't know. Doesn't matter. I'll be gone in the morning."
She spread out the sheets on the couch, then hunkered down under the covers. Exhausted all of a sudden, she was sure that she would get to sleep easily.
An hour later, she knew sleep wasn't coming. She'd shifted onto her back. Then her side. Then her other side. In between, she punched the pillow he'd given her.
    All to no avail.
Her bladder spoke up. She didn't want to get out from under the covers, but she had to. Reluctantly, she padded down the hallway that Brandon had gone down.
A thought struck her. What did he look like sleeping? Her curiosity got the better of her.
She opened the first door she came to, and realized it was Brandon's bedroom. He lay under crumpled covers. Spike lay next to him, and he was snoring. She smiled at the scene.
Before she could close the door, he sat up. She shrieked.
"Sorry," he said, his voice deeper probably from being half-asleep.
That voice could tell her dirty things any time he wanted. Right before he did dirty things to her. Her mouth went dry.
"No, I'm sorry to wake you. I was looking for the bathroom. Forgot where it was."
"You didn't wake me, and it's the next door."
    "Thank you."
She closed his door quietly, then found the bathroom where he said it was. Finishing her business, she washed her hands. When she entered the dark hallway, she saw Brandon standing in his doorway.
    "Is everything okay?" he said.
"Yes, thanks. Just having a little trouble sleeping," she said.
He'd turned on a light in his bedroom. She could see it better now, and just how Spartan it was. Then she looked down. She'd invaded this man's privacy enough tonight.
    "Anything I can do?"
Take me into your bed and make love to me until I can't move? What would he say? Would she shock him, or would he take action? "No, I'll be fine."
She had to brush past him to get down the hall. Her arm tingled where she'd touched him. Wow. She didn't shake out her arm until she was back in the living room.
Her body thrummed even more than it had before. He was all American grade A beef. And she'd bet he was a good lover. Tender and tough at all the right times.
Her mouth went dry just thinking about it.
Now she really wasn't going to get to sleep.
    ***
Brandon watched Gemma go back into the living room. If she had asked to sleep in his bed, he would have let her. He wanted to speak, but he didn't
Well, she wouldn't have been sleeping.
Not at all. They would have torn up the sheets. He bet she was a wildcat in bed.
    "Get a hold of yourself."
She'd touched him briefly, and sparks might as well have flown off of him. His body hummed at the touch and the potential it spoke of.
He hadn't felt that with anyone. Ever. Not even Jessica.
    Oh he'd been
