to him as she reached out to grab his hand and forced it in between her thighs. Sapphire linked placed her fingers over his and slowly moved the digits over her clit.

Sin bit lightly into her collar bone before be pulled back, away, and flipped Sapphire on her stomach. “Yes!” She cried out, gripping the sheets tightly as Sin entered her from behind.

Sapphire closed her eyes and gave herself over to him, to everything. Smells seemed thicker, his skin felt rougher, and Sapphire could swear she tasted chocolate infused chili, maybe a little cinnamon, and another addictive piece she couldn’t name.

“Lift your ass higher.” Sin growled and bit her ear gently.

Sapphire nearly laughed was she followed Sin’s directions, but a sharp thrust cut off her brain.

Thinking was impossible, she could only feel, him, her-- a combination of their desires like a violent storm. Taking her under, lifting her up, casting her over the edge. But it was different this time, that moment of free fall like a glimpse of death and life, held between this second and the next world--she never came down. Sin kept her there, in a constant free fall, all for him.

I love you . Sapphire wasn’t sure who said it, or even if it was said out loud. Their thoughts blended together, melding so completely Sapphire didn’t know if it was her desire she was feeling or his. didn’t know if she came or if he was coming.

    And it was perfect.

    Chapter 6

A little ways down the road...

“You promised!” Sapphire followed Sin around the room, her words accusing.

“That was before I found out you were pregnant!” He shot back at her.

They’d been having the same fight for a while, where Sin thought she was an invalid because she was a couple weeks pregnant, and she thought he was an over protective idiot. So far, nothing had been resolved.

    “It's my best friend's wedding!”

She’d been so happy to find out that Maxine and Vincent had finally set a date, and would be married in just a few weeks. But Sin was ruining her mood with weird fears that she was going to suddenly go into labor on a plane at twelve weeks pregnant. The man thought if she had a stomach ache they should rush to the hospital, because the baby was in trouble. And while Sapphire had loved the protectiveness at the beginning, it was really starting to wear thin.

“You can always see her at our wedding, after the baby’s born.” Sin growled as he plopped down in his new office chair and tugged Sapphire onto his lap.

Sapphire rolled her eyes and pointed a finger at him. “And you can always leave the compound to Christopher and Jasmine for a few days while we go to the wedding.”

Sin scowled and tugged her closer. “They just mated, Sapphire. And with their new baby, they have enough on their hands.”

Stupid man making sense. Sapphire thought bitterly, trying to find a way to go to the wedding. She hadn’t seen Maxine in ages. not since she sent her to Spain. The thought of seeing her friend finally settling down with an alpha wolf was a sight Sapphire didn’t want to miss .

Sapphire maintained her glaring contest with Sin. “You can’t get anyone more reliable than those two.”

Sin shook his head. “Face it Sapphire, you’re not going.”

It was a command. Plain and simple. When was the last time Sin commanded me to do anything? Sapphire thought back. Lately he’d been protective, but he still basically let her run the compound the way she wanted.

It was nice to be equals with Sin.

But when he pulled his alpha male bullshit, Sapphire just wanted to punch him in the face. Then kiss him. Then punch him again. It was a never ending cycle.

Taking a deep breath, Sapphire tried to see it from his side, ration out why he wouldn’t want her to go. It was hard to do, but she understood Sin’s need to control. He had all the control in the world on the compound, but
