much, but he smiled at the blonde, Rin felt an odd knot of jealously form in her stomach, he was using his killer smile on another woman.
It’s fine . She thought. It is not like Jensen is my boyfriend.
She had no idea how many women he could have on the go, in fact, she didn’t like to think about that, or what he spent his days doing because the reality was probably more than she could handle. She had already allowed herself to get way to involved with him. She liked to think she could just stop seeing him, but he had burrowed into her mind and set up house there.
So she made a decision, for the preservation of her sanity! If she followed him about long enough perhaps she would catch him doing something that she could use to detach herself without too much anguish. She had always known seeing him was a bad idea, but if she had proof, then maybe her heart would come around and see that too.
She followed at a distance, as the pair entered a coffee shop, she chose the boutique opposite to hold her stakeout. She could just about make them out sat together. Happily, they didn’t seem close. Happily? Who do I think I'm kidding? She was far more attached than she realised, if she watched them kiss, she would probably implode, or go she-hulk on them. Nonetheless, she remained in covert operation mode, pretending to browse so she didn’t get thrown out for loitering.
After an uneventful fifteen minutes, they left the building. The woman lit a cigarette and continued to gesture wildly and laugh too much. She wondered if he did that to her as well, making her overact and giggly. He obviously affected the women around him. Rin had noticed that nearly every lady who walked past had a good long look at him, some even turned to have a second peek after they had passed him. That also served to boil her blood, getting jealous then instantly chastising herself.
He reached into his pocket and handed her something. It was his card! The same silver rectangle he had handed to her after they had made out on the veranda. She watched on in disbelief and something close to rage as he said something then grinned. The blonde opened her arms, he looked taken back but met her embrace. Rin cursed loudly earning tuts and filthy looks from the shoppers around her. She couldn’t watch this anymore. Rather than imploding or ripping her stupid blonde weave out, she marched out of the shop and off in the opposite direction from the treacherous pair. Tears stinging her eyes.
Chapter 7
J ensen had been trying to phone Rin all evening, but it kept ringing off. He could have sworn he had seen her today. She had been walking so fast though, he had not managed to catch up with her before she was lost to the crowds.
He had an odd feeling that he was going to get an earful when he did get hold of her. Something about the way she moved, so fast and unnatural for Rin’s usual measured wiggle.
Normally, after meeting up with each other, that would be it for about a week, but he wanted another opportunity to see her and attempt to ask her out, he never quite found the moment before.
He tried calling aga in but she still didn’t answer.
H e wouldn’t be put off by technology alone! Turning away from the window he had been stood at, he grabbed his keys and plucked his leather jacket from the hidden closet by the front door, then headed out.
Chapter 8
R in sank back under the water, concentrating on the tickling sensation of the trapped air bubbles in her hair; escaping their net and making a break for the surface, climbing over her skin to freedom. She knew her phone had been ringing, but she had no interest in talking to anyone, even Cass, her older sister. She was wrestling with issues she didn’t want to share with anyone. No one knew about her sordid little sessions with Jensen anyway, and that was how it would stay.
She broke the surface and reached for the razor. As she went about removing body hair , she sulked
