Cuz, we will do this some other time, duty calls.”
He hurried down the stairs and left without looking back. Well who would want to turn around into their newly greatest fear?

The rocks on the patio at the peak of the valley made a comfortable bedding to absorb the incandescence of the sunset. However, John Steelburg was rather fixated in the reminiscence of yesterday, so he paid little notice to the scattering of white light in the heavens which created a mystic ambiance in the colloids of the sky.
He was at first h esitant to dial her number.
“Is there any crime against calling ones cousin?” He wondered and summoned the courage to call her.
The phone rang three times. He hung up before it got to the fourth ring. Half of an hour had past and it had gotten too overwhelming to not call again. This time it was a breath of fresh air to hear her soft tone voice say,
    “Hello.”
    “Hello?” John signaled.
    “I am here.”
    “So…what’s up?” He asked.
“Nothing much…just here thinking…what’s up with you Cuz?”
“Nothing really… The sun didn’t set today.”
“Yes it did.” She affirmed, “You just didn’t see it.”
“Yeah, technically you're right. I guess I was too deep in thoughts to even notice.”
“What have you been thinking about?” She inquired.
“I was caught up in the twist of what happened today, the condescension and all the drama that encompasses.
“I know it’s so wrong and we are way over our heads here, but…” She sighed, “What I wouldn’t do to kiss you once more.”
“I didn’t say this is wrong. It’s just that in the world we live in, it’s not openly acceptable.” He continued in a lighter tone, “They would stone you to death and castrate my little john.”
She blurted out a little laugh that soothed the air.
“I certainly wouldn’t want them to castrate your john, John.” She teased.
“Hmmm. I see you have a newly found friend and family. How did you like his touch and squeeze against your body?”
“I liked the bigger John better. The bigger John was a gentleman who kissed well. It’s hard to find a real gentleman that kisses like a prince these days.”
“Trust me, I know John better than you do and he is the chivalrous knight that stands hard and ready for his queens commandments.”
“Are you saying that John already has a queen that he is eternally faithful to?”
“No, the John that held and embraced you today with the due passion of a man that crawls on bending knees to the oasis in the forsaken desert to feel a drip of water touch his tongue to quench the thirst of a thousand horses does not behold a queen in his kingdom at this moment in time.”
“Aww wow! I am utterly lost for words. You are so charming! It’s shivery. My palms, sweaty…
“So are you seeing anyone?” John asked.
After a brief silence she replied.
“…Yes, I am actually involved with this guy by the name of Joseph Gibson. I call him Joe.”
The water erased his footprints in the sand. He shivered as it touched his toes. The sea carried with it a cold wave of disappointment and heartless repudiation. He took a few steps back from the shore. After all the water suddenly didn’t seem as welcoming, and even though there was usually hope beyond the horizon, it was no ordinary love song of when a man searched the seven oceans to finally find compatibility in the depths of despair and hopelessness. This was a total head on collision of the earth, moon and stars at the speed of light, at a factor of a billionth of a point one probability that a particle would emerge and give credence to support the theory that such a love is real. That such a love could stand the test of time, redefine morals and instill hope and confidence into those who were shunned for knowing unconditional love.
With closed eyes and adrenaline flight he spurred ahead and dived in like
