sake, pick a name for her.”
“I can't decide and part of me worries that she's not mine. That I'd have to give her up.”
    Yep. Know that feeling already.
“And I can't be seen going into a baby store Eden. You are going to have to do it for me.”
“Alright. I'll go and get a few things while I'm out. What are you going to do long term?”
He frowned as he leaned on the bench. I pulled the empty bottle from the baby's mouth and set her at my shoulder, gently patting her back.
“The baby Fraser, are you going ahead with this nurse thing or are you going to do something else? Give up the partying ways to be her father? You can't leave her here by herself to go out on the town.”
“Yeah. I know.” he sighed. “You should move in.”
    “What?”
I stared at him, unable to understand the statement. He shrugged, right as the baby burped loudly.
“Oh well done.” I cooed at the baby and then narrowed my gaze at her father. “So tell me your reasoning Fraser, I'm not really sure why you'd want me here helping you.”
Even though I really want to.
“You seem to have a pretty good grip on the situation. And we're about to go on tour anyway, it's not as if we won't be living in each others pockets anyway. I don't need another person getting in my way. You're bad enough.”
“Gee thanks.” I said dryly. “On that note, you can change the nappy and I'm going to get a car seat.”
I left the baby with Fraser, happily striding out of the house and not in the slightest bit upset. No nurse, just Eden. I could live with that. Not sure how things would be in a years' time when the tour was over and we went back to our own lives. Though I would still have to deal with them on a daily basis and I would still see baby a lot. I sighed as I climbed into the car and turned the engine over. This was a complete mess.
Fraser had foolishly parted with his credit card. So I bought a juicy reprieve to drink and wandered around the oversized baby store, leaning on the trolley. I had found a sterilizer, one that utilized a microwave oven. Not sure if the hotels that we were booked into had them in the hotel room but I figured the kitchen staff would be obliging. There was also a warmer in the trolley, a fine little contraption that would heat both milk and food evenly. A couple more bottles and a carrier to keep them warm, a nappy bag and more nappies. Clothes, bub was going to be a fashion hit. Bedding, oh and a travel crib. Couple of books and of course, the main thing that I came here for. A car seat. More wipes, several more packets of nappies, a thing to lay her on when bathing and toys. Yes, lots of bright and squeaky toys.
This shop, for all that it was great in its variety of baby goods was a real pain in my head. For some unknown reason they thought that playing child friendly music at a really loud volume was a good idea. Just so that we are clear about what I term child friendly music, I am not talking about some teeny bopper with PG lyrics. I am talking about nursery rhymes to modern music with squeaky sounds and funny voices. Annoying. Baby was not going to listen to this kind of nonsense.
Knowing her father, she would be raised on the classic hard rock and metal music. I could already imagine her in a few years' time with a mass of messy brown hair like her father. Guaranteed that she would be in a black shirt and a pair of jeans, giving the devil's hand signal as she rocked it out listening to Led Zeppelin. Fraser was a huge Zep fan.
Every time I turned an aisle, I found something awesome. In selecting an item that had several choices available, I chose the best and most expensive. Not only to stick it to Fraser but to spoil a gorgeous little girl. And yes, I get that she wouldn't know.
The woman behind the checkout looked at me like I was a little crazy.
“Sister found out.” I shrugged. “Thought she was retaining fluid.”
“Oh really?” she said dreamily. “That's so weird, right?”
    I nodded and
