louder, he made fists. Slowly, second by second,
he brought the show back to life. He didn’t need to look to point at the band.
To tell which band member to kick in. They listened perfectly.
The show began with a greater rock
n’ roll fury than it would have before and because of that, because of the way
the fans reacted, Slader played longer than he had planned. The notes from the
piano from earlier were stuck in his head throughout the show. But seeing the
piano would make him think of Jessica. The magazine writer extraordinaire. The
one who thought she could steal the story everyone wanted to get.
    But who was she really?
Why did she have to be so
beautiful?
    So... addicting?
Slader swore he could have licked
the air in that dressing room to taste her innocence. And once the show was
over, he went into the room first, stopping his band. His new band... Skren,
Roc, Jimmie, and the overweight bassist who had been with Slader for a year
now, Bry. Inside the dressing room, Slader inhaled the air and smiled,
picturing Jessica. Picturing her across the world. Picturing her in his arms.
Slader held his arms out and stared. He’d never felt so taken back by someone
before. Jessica would remain within him, until she came back.
Slader opened the door and allowed
his band into the room. They sat and waited for Slader to talk. This was the
power of Slader. Of his music. Of his money. He stared at his band but didn’t
see them. When Jerry entered the room, he didn’t see Jerry.
    His eyes were dazed.
“Jerry, take care of us for
tomorrow night,” Slader said. “Right here.”
    “Again?”
“Again,” Slader said. “And the next
night. And the next.”
    “Slader... we have... the owner...”
    “He’s behind on his payments,”
Slader said. He looked at Jerry. Jerry looked surprised. “He owes thirty grand
in back taxes too. I’ll cut the check. I’ll buy the place. And we’ll play here
every night.”
    “Why? Why, Slader?” Jerry asked.
Slader saw Jerry move towards him.
There had been years of relationship between Alex Slader and Jerry. Enough that
when Slader looked, he didn’t need to speak to make sure Jerry understood what
he wanted. Jerry simply nodded.
“I just bought myself a nice
venue,” Slader said and smiled.
The rest of the band looked at each
other.
“What do you think of that, Bry?”
Slader asked.
“I think it’s fucking awesome,” Bry
said. “I bet we can make each show better than the night before.”
“That’s the answer I love to hear,”
Slader whispered. “Now... let’s get crazy.”
Slader took a deep breath and
rolled his neck, feeling really good. He led the band from the dressing room to
another room. A bigger room. A room filled with everything any rockstar could dream
of. Every kind of booze. Cold beer. Drugs.  And women. A lot of women. Women
already naked, ready for the taking. Ready for the fantasy with a rockstar to
come true. And women who were dressed. Those who would tease their way into a
position they could only dream of.
A topless woman walked up to
Slader, her long body stunning. Her large breasts were perfectly shaped, her
nipples erect. They were dark pink, delicious looking. It made Slader’s fingers
wiggle.
    The
things he could do...
“I’ve been waiting for you,” the
woman whispered. “I can be your pain tonight.”
“I’m sure you can,” Slader said.
“But I’m already in pain.”
    “Then I’ll be the cure.”
“Can I call you Maria?” Slader
asked.
    “Whatever you want.”
    “Can I call you Jessica?”
“Why don’t you let me do something
to you that will make it so you can’t say either name... or anything at all...”
    The woman smiled.
Slader felt his lip curl. He made
fists and nodded. He looked to his jeans and saw the handcuffs there. They were
meant for someone else but they could come in use now. Slader led the woman to
the back of the room, in the corner. A dark corner. As Slader pressed himself
against the
