that would bring them into a discussion about
their business arrangement. She really hoped that it could be a
permanent situation now that he admitted he loved her but she
didn’t want to kill the mood. Not just yet.
“ Nothing,” she said as she
leaned over to kiss him on his soft lips. A tingle erupted through
her again. Damn! Why did she have this sensation whenever his skin
touched hers. It was highly erotic but they definitely had a strong
chemical reaction and she treasured that. “Let’s get some
rest.”
    “ Good idea.
N ow shut up!” he teased her.
She stuck her tongue out at him
while his eyes were still closed.
“ You know that’s going to
cause you a serious spanking.” A salacious grin curved his
lips.
    Elsie’s jaw dropped. She
was in shock. How could he have seen that? She smiled to herself
and laid her head on his firm chest where she could hear his strong
and powerful heart pounding in a rhythmic beat. It lulled her to
sleep.

    The following week,
Carlos leaned back in the leather chair
behind his desk. He was in his office at Kincade’s headquarters,
his eyes fixed on the Manhattan skyline outside the window. It was
a breathtaking view from the forty-third floor.
    He would turn
thirty-years- old next week. He had
already made his decision on what he would do next.
A lot happened during the past week after he and Elsie
returned from Niagara Falls. The press had gotten wind of the
unusual will conditions of his grandfather which stated that by his
thirtieth birthday if he was not married and settled down he would
lose his shares in the corporation. And that wasn’t all, his sworn
enemy, Red, had apparently tried to sell an exclusive story to one
of the tabloids for a million dollars that Carlos was paying an
employee to marry him to keep his position and his shares in the
Kincade corporation. Imagine the disgrace and scandal that would
befall him. Anger seethed through his body. A muscle twitched in
his jaw at the sickening thought. Lucky for Carlos, he had allies
in the media world. The owner of the publication had contacted him
beforehand and he was able to stop the story from going
public.
    Carlos was not going to
appear desperate under any circumstances. That was why
he ’d spent the week in much thought about
what really mattered to him.
    Power. Dignity. Respect.
Control.
    Happiness. Something that could
not be bought for any amount of money.
As if that tabloid situation wasn’t enough, his
half-brother John had been arrested for fraud. It appeared that the
paternity test that was taken in the 1980s was a fake. But it
didn’t matter now. None of that mattered now. He had called an
emergency meeting with his staff and Elsie was going to be present.
He would soon set the record straight.
    Elsie had changed him.
Never in his life had a
woman dominated his every thought around the clock and stirred his
soul to soaring heights.
    It was crazy. He seriously
was in love with her. The only cure was
to marry Elsie and never let her out of his sight.
    A surge of heat rushed
through him just thinking about her. He was captivated by Elsie and
decided he couldn’t…wouldn’t live without her. He had to have her
completely in every way and the incident in Niagara Falls was not
going to repeat itself ever again. She was everything to
him.
    What sort of magic spell
had she cast over him? No woman had ever had that effect on him.
Ever. He was mesmerized by her.
    His mouth watered at the
thought of tasting her sweet juices again. The thought made his cock hard. Her voluptuous sway
drove him crazy out of his senses. She had a fine waistline and
shapely thighs. The way a woman should be. A grin of amusement
touched his lips as he thought of her adorable habits and her
unpredictable ways, especially what she’d done in the women’s
change room and the look of morbidity on her face when he
confronted her about masturbating while calling out his name to the
chagrin of the workmen within earshot who
