already knew you were beautiful and perfect, but now I can add rare to that list. The money that you sent back to me is in your bank account. Don’t question how, just simply smile and enjoy your flowers.
Gunz
An unexpected smile spread across my face. I grabbed my phone off the counter and quickly went to my Citibank app. I hurriedly signed in and lo and behold, my bank account had an extra forty grand. I moved the flowers from the counter and sat them in the middle of my island. I shook my head as I picked up my glass of wine and headed for the staircase. I climbed the stairs, ready to soak in my tub, when I heard music coming from Nazi’s room. I rolled my eyes and went towards her door. Not really caring about respecting her privacy, I opened the door to find her dancing around her room to a Beyoncé song.
“Nazi, what are you doing here? You’re not supposed to be here until next weekend. My birthday is the 14 th , remember?” I asked, turning down her music.
“I’m your sister; how could I forget your birthday? Not to mention, your birthday is Valentine’s Day.”
“Yeah, well you could have given me a heads up that you were coming.”
“You could have given me a heads up that you were dating someone.” She smiled, pulling me over to her bed.
“What are you talking about? I’m not dating anyone.”
“You don’t have to lie, Laci. He sent you your favorite flowers and those are not easy to get. As soon as I got here, the doorbell was ringing. The delivery guy didn’t even want to give them to me because he had strict instructions to give them to you. He even had a picture of what you look like. Is the dude you’re dating in the FBI? If so, tell him I have a couple of tickets he can get rid of.” She laughed, but I didn’t find anything funny.
I was thankful, but creeped out at the same time. I couldn’t figure out how he knew my favorite flower, where I lived, and he had a picture of me to give to the delivery guy. Not to mention, he put money in my back account. I hope he wasn’t a stalker or anything because I would hate to have to move.
“So, who is he?” Nazi asked, taking me out of my little rant I was having in my mind.
“He’s not my boyfriend; he’s my client that just might be a stalker.”
“A stalker! Did you tell dad? Matter of fact, he wouldn’t know how to handle a dude that goes by the name Gunz. I’ll give you the lipstick stun gun I have. You need it way more than I do.”
“Where the hell did you get a stun gun from? You do know it’s illegal, right?”
“Sissy, it’s only illegal if you get caught. Anywho, let’s go out tonight.”
“I don’t want to. Why don’t you go up the street and go visit mom and dad?” I lived a couple of blocks away from my parents. They were part of the reason I was able to afford this house. I paid for the house with most of my money, but their names were the ones on the dotted line.
“They don’t even know I’m up here and I would like to keep it that way. Come on Laci, come out with me. I want to go to a reggae club.” She smiled.
“You think you are so slick.” I gave her the side eye because she knew I loved me some reggae. Mavado was my weakness; I repped the gully hard.
“Fine, if you’re not having fun, then we can leave.”
“Okay Nazi, I’ll go,” I sighed, sipping on my wine.
“Good and I’ll pick out your outfit, so don’t worry. Go get in the tub, so you can soak because I know that’s what you were going to do. I’ll have your clothes out on the bed.”
“Don’t try to dress me in anything too revealing, Nazi.”
“I won’t, relax. Now, get out my room, so I can finish listening to my music.”
I rolled my eyes at her and left out the room. I went straight for my master bathroom and turned on the hot water in my free standing tub. I added a couple of drops of vanilla oil and some vanilla scented bath salts. I sat my cup of wine at the edge of the tub before going into my room. I
