    Megan smiled and shook her head as she bit into her food.
    “Am I what you expected in the playroom?”

    He wanted her to be comfortable, and it was clear that the light conversation wasn’t calming her at the moment, so they finished their sandwiches quietly. It killed him that she wasn’t able to just talk with him. He wanted to know every thought that was going through her mind. If he asked he was certain she would be truthful, but he didn’t want to overstep just yet.
    When they finished eating he put their plates in the sink and walked her to the front door to say goodbye before she left. They’d agreed already to meet on the upcoming Tuesday which seemed years away at this point. But he knew she needed time to adjust. After she left his head was clear and he hoped he could get some work done. Anything to get his mind off her.

    Megan sat across from Dawn the next day at a local pizza joint. She did her best to concentrate on the things her friend was telling her, but her thoughts kept going back to the scene she had with Greg. At how amazing her pleasure had been.     Megan smiled. “It was different, and I did like it. That’s all I’m giving you.”

    Megan knew she did. Dawn only shared stuff when Megan asked for information for her books, and even then she’d never mentioned names and only gave the necessary details. Which was fine. Megan knew what a Dom and sub did was between them, and you never knew who was listening and might not understand the lifestyle.
    “At least tell me when you’re seeing him again.”
    “Tuesday at seven. Though to be honest, I wish it was today.”
    “The time apart is good. It helps make sure you don’t get too attached to one another.”
    Megan thought back to sharing a meal with him and how normal the whole thing was in the kitchen. She was positive that wasn’t something that typically happened in this type of relationship, but being normal with him had been so nice. It put her at ease after the scene. And she rather enjoyed getting to know him. He was incredibly handsome. She really hadn’t taken the time to see him during their first meeting. His eyes were soft, and when he smiled it was as if she was the only one he’d ever given that smile to. Which was so silly.
    Yikes. Maybe Dawn was right. The time apart was good. She had to get her feelings into perspective. She couldn’t go and fall in love with her Dom.
    “I think you’re right about the time apart.” Megan took a long sip from her sweet tea.
