the plane, looking for her seat number as usual. Then, there
it was: 2A. Right by the window in business class. Tina had never
flown business class before, only ever economy. But this wasn’t any
regular vacation. She’d been the region’s top performing
salesperson at the bank where she worked as a financial
representative. She opened accounts, credit cards, applied for
mortgages and more for her customers, and she was very, very good
at it. As a reward for being the top performer in the entire
western United States, Tina was given a free vacation to the
Bahamas. She was the youngest person ever in the history of the
bank to win the prize, being only 22 years old.
To say Tina was
excited was a ridiculous understatement. Tina had never even left
the country before. Now she was going to spend one week at a luxury
resort in the Bahamas, all paid for by her employer. It had been
way too long since Tina had gone to the beach for her vacation. She
usually either hung out at home and relaxed, or went up the coast
to visit her parents. Now she was going to lie by the pool,
ordering free drinks, go snorkelling and just generally relax.
When the plane
landed, Tina was met by a driver, who drove her to the marina,
where they got onto a boat with other passengers headed to the
island, a couple kilometers away from Nassau. Tina hadn’t realized
that the resort was on its own private island, and when they
arrived, she was stunned. The resort was set up as a number of
private huts, each with a small path leading to the main part of
the resort with the pool, bar, restaurant, entertainment areas and
more. Each hut had its own private part of beautiful turquoise
beach, with the whitest sand Tina had ever seen.
Tina was
immediately shown to her hut by one of the hostesses, and Tina was
stunned. It was bigger than her apartment at home! The bedroom had
a full king sized bed, with beautiful tropical bedding and a door
and window leading out to Tina’s expanse of private beach. The
living room had a big screen TV, a table and the most comfortable
couch Tina had ever sat on.
She immediately
changed into her bikini (navy blue with gold diagonal stripes,
she’d bought it specifically for this trip), grabbed one of the
soft, plush towels offered by the resort and decided to go explore
the resort pool, and more importantly, the bar. It’s to get over
the jet lag, of course Tina told herself. As she walked up the
path to the bar, Tina suddenly did a double take when she walked
past a tall brunette in heels and a gold bikini. Was that....?
Shit, that was her. I just saw my first ever movie star! Tina
realized. The tall brunette was part of the Hollywood elite, and
now Tina was staying at the same luxury resort as her in the
Bahamas! Wow, these next seven days are going to be the best of
my life. I absolutely know it. When she got to the pool, Tina
sat down in an empty chair as a waiter came up and took her order
for a long island iced tea.
Tina lay on the
chair, relaxing, taking a sip of her beautifully mixed cocktail.
She looked over the pool where three young women and one young man
were frolicking around, having fun as the tropical sun beat down
over them.
Suddenly, Tina
heard some movement to her left. Someone was coming to sit in the
chair next to her. He was around 6 feet tall, probably in his mid
thirties. No, late thirties, Tina thought. He was one of those men
that simply acted younger than they were. He had a genuine, happy
grin on his face that suited hi s twinkling light brown eyes
perfectly. The man was very, very handsome, and Tina couldn’t help
but think she’d seen him before. Hell, I’ve already seen one
movie star already, maybe this guy’s been in a TV show I watch or
something.
The man ordered
a mojito from the waiter, then looked over at Tina. “Hey, I’ve
never seen you here before” he said with a smile.
“Umm... yes...
this is my first time here at the resort” Tina answered
nervously.
“I’m Kiley.”
