has been deemed our biggest threat we will use their holiday to round up all potential defectors. Simultaneously all other regions will do the same. General registration will begin on the 26 th. Have all our agents been prepared?”
The man on the right took his cue. “They await their orders sir.”
The Prince stood and leaned forward placing his hands on the table looking at each of his council in turn. “Quickly and efficiently gentleman, we don’t want anarchy we want control. It won’t be long before people begin to appreciate the world we’ve created for them.”
The man on the right leaned back in his chair which gave a slight creak. “And those who do not conform will help to alleviate the population problem.”
The council looked at each in turn relishing in their power. For a short moment the man in the shadows thought of the suffering, the killing, thought of how he could end it all by taking out the entire council. He grinned ever so slightly reveling in his own power, but he knew even he could not defeat all of the illuminati an organization that has always existed in one form or another. He then thought to himself that there was nothing to be done, better to be on the side of history.

“Let me get this straight, you want to check every place that sells cigarettes within a thirty mile radius of the crime for a cashier who might remember a man buying Virginia slims. Are you nuts? Do you know how many stores that is?”
Nathan was sitting at his desk looking on his pad for the listing of stores that sold cigarettes then marking a map with dots. “34 gas stations, 3 Wal-Mart’s, 8 grocery stores and 32 convenient, dollar, gas stations, liquor and other that might sell Virginia slims cigarettes.”
Special agent Daniel Grey was a good investigator and though he had learned to trust his partner’s instincts this was going overboard.
Nathan moved his gaze from the map up to see a very perturbed Agent Grey standing before him. Nathan sat back took a deep breath and tried to explain his logic.
“It won’t take as long as you think. Think about it, at all three murders there was only one common piece of evidence found.”
Grey skeptically answered. ”Virginia Slims cigarettes.”
Nathan nodded. “Now in all three cases the cigarettes were found on the outskirts of the woods where each girl was found.”
Grey nodded. “OK but forensics couldn’t get a DNA match between the saliva from the cigarettes and the semen; the cigarettes could just be coincidence. There were other brands around as well, smokers toss their butts everywhere.”
The intuitive Agent Turner was already shaking his head. “No, one maybe two but not all three locations.”
Grey interjected. “They were public places, parks and an interstate rest stop.”
Nathan was still signaling the universal sign for no and Grey was stumped. “OK then how do you know the cigarettes were his?”
Nathan answered. “He wanted those girls found, not one body was more than three days old, he’s arrogant, he’s proud of what he’s done. He left his semen on the girls because he knew he had no record, he knew we couldn’t link it to him, and he doesn’t think we’ll ever catch him. All the cigarettes were in one general area normally in a puddle or drain. He was either nervous and was smoking before he committed the murder, or most likely he was relishing in his success, probably the latter. Either way the point is he’s smart, smart enough to cover his tracks and part of the thrill for him is getting over on us.”
Grey nodded. “No problem, we wait until he makes a mistake, eventually this asshole will tease us too much he’ll fuck up and we’ll catch him, we’ve already got forensics on tire tracks at the scene as well as…”
Nathan pounded his desk as he stood up. “NO! I will not wait for this piece of shit to hurt another little
