Go to
lunch with some clients. So go on
and don’t leave out anything because I want to hear it all,” Maxine said with a
giddy laugh that made Regina giggle even more.
    “Well to answer your
questions, it was really nice. We went to Bagwell’s, which was amazing in
itself. He looked so hot and handsome Max. I swear I almost wanted to die. He
smiled at me the entire time we were together. I kept thinking to myself that
this must be some kind of a dream or something because I know I couldn’t be living
through this in real life but I honestly was Max, I was having lunch with a
very handsome man in a fine restaurant. I had the grilled chicken Cesar salad
that he recommended and we shared a piece of chocolate cake. But he kept asking
me all these questions though, which really freaked me out. I think even though
I know he was just being nice to me Max, I let everything he said get to me but
he told me that if he ever made me uncomfortable with his questioning, he
wanted me to tell him.” They stopped over at the grocery store.
    “Well at least he
understands what not to say, which is good. I honestly can’t believe how lucky
you got today. Do you know how lucky you got today, Regina? Women would give
their first born son to have any interaction with Collin Noonan,” Maxine said
while they started for the doors.
    Regina just shook it
off as they walked toward the produce. She could understand why most women
would swoon over Collin, after all she did.
    “So will you be having
lunch with me tomorrow? I found this cute café near the square.”
    “Um, no, I’m actually
having lunch with Collin again tomorrow and the next day and the day after that
and so on.” Regina smirked as Maxine started laughing.
    When she got home to
her apartment with her groceries, she was shocked to see a note on her door.
After putting her things inside, she read the note.

    Please
come to the leasing office, you have something here .

    Locking the door once
more, she headed straight to the office and met up with Mrs. Townsend, who was as
old as she was nosy.
    “Hello there Regina, I
see you got my note. A very fine looking gentleman came in here with this right
here and asked where your apartment was.” Mrs. Townsend pointed over toward a
table where she would normally have new tenants fill out paperwork and sitting
there was a beautiful bouquet of red roses and baby’s breath in a crystal vase.
Regina had never seen anything so beautiful before in her life. “So anyways, I
told him that I don’t normally tell people off the street where my residents
live because you never know what they could be up to. But after looking into
those eyes of his, I swear I literally was speechless they were so beautiful. So
he smiled and asked me if could he leave them here with me and I said well sure
sweetie. He put them right over there and gave me a smile and said thank you
and left. You’re a very lucky girl Regina, that man was a handsome fella.”
    Taking in the wonderful
aroma of the flowers, Regina was almost in tears. Seeing a card, she took it
out of its holder and opened up the little envelope.

    See
you for lunch!

    Regina smiled and
giggled with happiness, something she hadn’t done in a long time. She honestly
couldn’t believe her luck today—she had met a handsome man, had her first lunch
date, and gotten a bouquet of roses. What more could happen, she wondered as
she walked out of the office after thanking Mrs. Townsend.

    Chapter Two

    “Are you ready?”
    “Yes, I’ll meet you in
the garage.”
    Collin hadn’t been to
the park in years. Most of his time was spent in the office and during the
weekend, if he wasn’t working, he was too tired to do anything else but sleep.
But he decided to humor her today and go along for a walk in the park. The day
was an in-between day as he liked to call it, it wasn’t too hot nor was it too
cold, it was right in between, which made it a perfect day to be just
