dinner, in the comfort of her bed, on long walks in the park, and on the beach of some exotic destination. She wanted him to kiss her again.

“Thanks for not running away,” she whispered passionately.

    “I don’t think that’s possible,” he muttered.

There was something in his eyes that she hadn’t noticed sitting that far away from him, or maybe it was the kiss that had ignited it inside of him, but there was a look in his eyes that made her nervous. It made her feel like she’d done something wrong or that she had triggered something animal and fierce inside of him. It was the kind of expression that looked like he was going through a discomfort right now and she wasn’t sure how she had caused it.

But it faded as he smiled and slowly stood up.

“I need to go to the bathroom for a second,” he said, his skin felt like fire under her fingertips. “Don’t move. Stay right here and I’ll be right back.”

“Are you okay?” she asked him nervously, afraid that she had somehow done everything wrong to him and he was about to die from the fact that she was being a drunken slut right now.

“No, I’m great,” he chuckled. “In fact, I feel incredible. Just hold on one second.”

She watched him as he headed for the restrooms in a kind of rushed, but calm pretense that made her feel even more nervous about him. As he disappeared down the walkway, she looked toward the bar where her friends had drawn the attention of every single man in the bar and they were completely oblivious to what had happened.

That made her nervous. Her emotional support now was entirely dependent upon the tiny, little voices in her head and the alcohol that she was drinking. Honestly, at this point, she was certain that they were entirely the same beings. She looked longingly toward that entry way and she knew that she was way too intoxicated and horny to be making any kind of judgments right now, but that wasn’t going to stop her.

From all the times that she had been down that hallway, she knew that there were pay phone booths that had been built back in the old days when the Valdez was a lot more popular and successful than it currently was. It was designed to give callers some privacy from those going to use the bathrooms. Now, they were just empty booths for people who had calls they wanted or needed to take, but didn’t have any interest to go stand out in the freezing cold to talk. She smiled and stood up. She knew what needed to happen.

As she made her way down the hallway, she was pleased at how quiet and dimly lit the whole place was. She liked the quiet and the calm of it.

A woman stepped out from the women’s bathroom, tossing a paper towel away as she glanced at Katie and made her way back down the hallway toward the lounge.
Katie checked the little booths and was pleased that they would be large enough to do exactly what she wanted and they were private enough that she figured they would probably get away with it.

It wasn’t like they were going to hand her over to the police if they were accidentally caught. She turned and looked back toward the bathroom and waited for him, smiling as she leaned against the wall and felt her whole body warming up to the idea of what she was about to do.

“Hey you,” she called softly to him as he stepped out of the bathroom door. He looked incredible. He was taller than her and his muscular frame was easily taken in when he was standing. He wasn’t lean or fat, and he wasn’t transitioning into a pudgy mass like Jake was. He was a man who took care of himself and was clearly putting hotel gyms to good use when he stayed at them.

“Hey,” he grinned. His hair looked slightly disheveled and she kind of liked the idea of it. “What are you doing back here?”

“Looking for trouble,” she said, leaning in and kissing him again.

When their lips locked together, it wasn’t long until they parted and
