Morgan told him that she preferred
that they sit down. It bought herself another half an hour of time,
but it was still early and she wondered if she'd be able to keep it
up for the whole day. When they walked back outside, it was just her
luck that a cab was waiting. It wasn't for them, but a bit of
persuasion from Fin's wallet, the driver made an exception and took
them in.
    “To
the best jewelry store in toon.” Finlay ordered The cab driver
looked back to the man who had just referred to the city of Miami as
'toon'.
    “Are
you Irish?” The driver asked.
    “Irish?
Do I soond Irish to ye, mate?” He said it in a serious voice
that anyone but Morgan would have found intimidating. The guy looked
scared, as if he had just pissed off the wrong person and he'd be
found dead in an alleyway in the morning. “I'm just fookin'
with ye. I'm Scottish, lad. Now on tae the shoap, will ye now?”
    Finlay
and Morgan burst out in laughter and after a few moments, the young
driver joined in on the laughter and nodded. He told them that he
knew just the place. Not only was it really the best place in the
city for fine jewelry, but it was also on the complete opposite side
of Miami, which was sure to rack up a nice toll on the meter.
    No,
no, no...I can't let him take us there. Then I won't have a way out.
Hungry! I'm hungry. Eh... Morgan rubbed her belly. She was
actually full from the large muffin, but delaying the trip for a
lunch stop would have to do. “Fin,” Morgan leaned into
the handsome man. “I'm hungry. Can we get lunch first?”
Finlay looked at her with narrowed eyes. He was on to her.
    “Morgan?”
    “Yes?”
She smiled innocently, hoping it would work.
    “I
know what ye are doing. Let's just get you a charm and ye can eat all
ye want.”
    “I
don't know what you're talking about,” Morgan spoke in a voice
that was higher than her own. “I'm hungry, Fin. Do you want me
to die? Just wither away into nothing? Look at me, I'm just skin and
bones and I'm going to die. All I ever wanted was a burger and you
hate me and you want me to starve to de...” Fin put his hand
over her mouth and shook his head. He told the cab driver the change
in plans and they stopped at a burger place. The girl forced herself
to down half of the burger and could barely finish a third of her
soda. At least it was another hour of time bought.. Whew. He might
have to roll me down the street, but if I can keep this up, it'll be
dark in no time.
    Finlay
called another taxi and for the third time, they were on their way to
pick out a charm. There was no way she could drink nor eat anything
else and her options were limited as to what else she could distract
him with. They passed a pet store, but Morgan knew that wouldn't work
and neither would the numerous furniture stores. When the taxi driver
told them they were almost there, Morgan got her next idea.
    Again,
she leaned in close to Finlay and whispered in his ear, “I have
to pee.”
    “Ye
can use the loo at the the jewelry shoap.” His voice was much
louder than her subtle approach toward the topic and Morgan blushed
when the cab driver looked at her in the mirror.
    “I
can't and I won't pee in a fine jewelry store! I have to go now!”
Morgan continued and played it off as if it were all of the coffee
she had drank.
    “We're
almost here! Ye can wait!” Finlay smiled at her, on to her
tricks.
    “Finlay
Campbell, I have to use the bathroom and you will have this nice
gentleman stop the vehicle so I may pee!” She used her best
authoritative voice and with a deep groan from Finlay, they pulled
into a fast food joint for the girl.
    She
was finally out of excuses after her business was taken care
of, and Morgan walked out of the restaurant with her head hung low. Why? Why won't he listen to me?! Her slow death march back to
his side made Finlay smile and take her hand.
    “Is
it all that bad? Me wanting to buy ye somethin' nice?” He
stopped walking and put his hands on her hips, holding
