fighters. More connected. However, if someone has a problem with it, then it could hurt the trust. We all have to be okay with it, or the jealousy will undermine the work. The truth is the most important part here.” Sebastian looked at Rebel and then Axle.
Rebel chuckled. “Well, I think Axle and I are close enough by blood. I’m not screwing him.”
“Glad you have standards.” Luke put his guy in a playful choke hold. “Love and sex are different. That’s all I’m saying. We try to limit what we do in bed and then drum up the energy for magic? Doesn’t make sense to me.”
“Me either. I’m fine with it. We just shouldn’t feel pressured,” Axle said.
    “Pressured?” Rebel asked.
“Not everyone might be into everything someone else is. Go with the flow, but there’s no pressure to screw everyone you can. Even with Val. She’s never done two guys before, so no need to rush in to double penetrate her.” Axle couldn’t believe they were talking about this. Normally when they talked about sex, it was crude and fantasy based -- strange women and men who were sex objects -- which didn’t cover Val. She was special.
“Okay, fine. She’s the one asking to watch us. I don’t think she’s as shy and mainstream as you think she is.” Luke grinned at Axle.
“It’s not about what sort of sex we have for the spell, anyway. We just need to connect and generate intimate energy, focus it on her, and we’ll do the spell,” Sebastian said.
“Denying ourselves something we want or something she wants won’t help the situation,” Rebel said.
The roar of a Harley engine told them she was back. Her loft apartment wasn’t far. Their conversation dropped off as they heard her coming up the stairs.
Axle took in her appearance head to toe. No more scrubs or their naughty little outfit. She was in jeans and a T-shirt that showed off her curves without exposing too much skin. Axle missed the sight of her naked. Her hair was damp but already curling from the hot desert air. She’d showered at home. That was something he’d like to see in person.
Carrying a bag in each hand, she set one on the table. “Books.”
“What’s in the other?” Rebel asked.
“Change of clothes. If the base of operation for zombie fighting is here, I’m not going to dress out of your biker babe section every day.” She ducked into the bedroom and returned without the bag.
“We can clean out a few drawers for you,” Axle offered.
Val paused. “I can live out of a bag. I’m not sure how long I’ll be bunking with you guys. Don’t want to overstay my welcome.”
“Not possible.” Sebastian poured her a cup of coffee.
“Thanks. I should get to work on that potion.” She unpacked the magical bag.
Sebastian settled in to help. “If you guys need me, call. I think we need to give the zombies priority.”
Axle suddenly wished he’d learned more about the magic side of things rather than just fighting the evil. Leaving his boyfriend with Val wasn’t the problem. True, Axle wanted more time with Val. However, time downstairs with Luke would only wave the possibility of sex with him in Axle’s face. He didn’t want to lust after his brother’s boyfriend, but Sebastian and Luke were such opposites.
    “You okay?” Rebel asked.
“Sure. Let’s get to work.” Axle put his coffee cup in the dishwasher and headed downstairs.

Watching Val work made Sebastian want her more. Actually, love her more, but he tried not to get his hopes up. She had a large wooden bowl filled with odds and ends from her bag and their kitchen.
“You think the potion will work?” he asked.
“I used it on vampires once. A friend had some trouble with the undead at their bar. The potion denies them the ability to cheat death. She put it in all the drinks, and the vamps fell like flies. No harm to the truly living.” Val tasted it.
“Will it be ready for tonight?” Sebastian stirred the potion.
    “No. Tomorrow night at the
