splinters and falls to the ground. She drops her toast on her table and runs out her front door to her porch.

The screen door slams behind her and she looks at me with pure shock on her face . I swing the weed eater around and bash her square in the forehead with it. Blood sprays everywhere as a flap of skin sticks to the base of the weed eater.

She falls backwards smashing a potted plant that falls off the patio table. She shrieks with pain and surprise raising her hands to fend off my next swing that digs into her wrist spraying more blood.

She leans to her side and tries to pull herself up onto the table and slips on her own blood causing her to fall face first onto the table sending a tooth through her lip. As she becomes woozy I grab the line spool and wrap it around her hands then around her feet.

She lay there squirming like a pig spitting blood and moaning. In the corner I see what I came for sitting there gleaming in the sun is the leaf blower. I jet across the porch and grab the leaf blower then walk back towards her and yes I’m grinning like a mad man.

I kneel beside her and bring her face forward look at her and I laugh as I shove my fingers into her mouth parting her lips. With a full force of pure lunacy I shove the leaf blower into her mouth chipping a few teeth.

I slide the spool of duct tape off my wrist and pull off long strips and wrap it around her blood-covered head and around the blower end of the leaf blower leaving no chance of escaping air. I shove dirt from the smashed plant into her nostrils.

I can see tears forming in her eyes, as she knows what will happen next. I reach down and turn on the leaf blower I see her cheeks fill and about to burst her eyes roll into the back of her head. Her body starts to thrash and she relieves her bowels dripping out of terry cloth white shorts on her front porch.

Not sure what did her in maybe it is her lungs exploding or maybe her heart giving out but it will be a quiet summer now and just my luck I find her gas can full so now I have some gas to mow my lawn.

    1. I recently read your book The Rot and enjoyed it. What inspired you to write it?

That story just came to me within a few minutes, A friend of mine asked on twitter for some story ideas to fill out her short story collection, and in result this story is what came to mind. Needless to say she didn’t jump on the idea so I went with it and wrote it myself.

Conspiracy theories run through my mind all the time. I worry about what is going on behind the scenes. Greed, corporation, and the fight of the common man, we are not on the top of the list of concern with the powers in charge of us.

    2. What made you decide to self-publish?

Since I can remember I have filled with all these stories, at first I tried to write when I was younger but my education achievements were not stellar. I have Dyslexia and the school system just pushed me through with no real concerns about my abilities.

So to tell stories and with the birth of home editing video systems I turned to filmmaking, I have had some very positive reviews for my work in video and still continue working in the field.

Filmmaking requires $ and that is something I don’t have much of so as a complete turn around I decided to take some of my film projects that would cost me to much money to pull off and turned them into short stories using the Storyboards I did up for them.

Closing My Eyes was one of those projects, I figured if I could sell the short story and get some interest in funding to make into a movie? Now it turns out my writing has brought on a fan base and writing without harnessing yourself to what you can pull off in film is like an
