lonely, Lydia went out, thinking that even sitting alone in a bar would be better than sitting alone at home.
The next morning, she woke up in her bed alone, well after 10 am. It wasn’t something she did often, but this particular morning lying in bed had seemed very appealing. She woke up two hours earlier to find her bed and room empty, but still bearing the signs of what had happened the night before. There were clothes scattered around, the bed sheets were creased and out of place, and most importantly, she was lying naked in her bed.
Her body was satisfied and almost singing with joy. It had been quite a while since she had let a stranger come near her and even more since she had let one into her bed. She still wondered what was different about the man from the previous night, but there surely was something that made her lower her guards enough for him to step in.
It has been a big month for her with no job and no boyfriend. So, why not some unattached sex too? Although it wasn’t in her character to sleep around (actually, up to last night, she had had sex with only two men), it was nice to feel wanted and treated like a woman again.
The man was everything a woman could desire – handsome, funny, intelligent, gentle, a good lover… But Lydia was glad he wasn’t in her bed in the morning. It was always awkward to speak in the sunlight about events that happened in the moonlight. It has been nice and now it was over. She was completely fine with that.
At her age, Lydia was still a very beautiful woman, with long, dark hair and deep brown eyes. She had attended one of the best colleges in the area and was offered her first job as soon as she finished school. Working had been a way for her to develop her talent and contribute to the creation of something unique and successful.
Without losing any more time, Lydia called her real estate agent and made the arrangements to sell the place she had been calling home for so long. Fortunately, she was able to sell the place in less than two weeks and start considering her next step.

Chapter 7
Lydia bought a new apartment in Savannah, Georgia, hoping for a better life for herself. The new place and surroundings helped in lifting up her spirits. The young woman began again applying for new jobs and was happy to see that here she had a much better chance to find one. She promised herself to try and be optimistic about her new life and surroundings.
She settled down into a new rhythm and each morning went out for a relaxing jog. That was when she received a message from her old boss at Emory about someone from Savannah looking for her. The news surprised her, especially because they were coming from the very man who destroyed her life. Lydia, however, needed the job too much to be picky and decided to contact them and see what it was all about.
She called the number from the message and was surprised to find out it belonged to the local police department. According to the secretary who answered the phone, they needed her for an old case, which had recently reopened. They gave her very little information, but the secretary informed her that it was about a special needs child, who had disappeared years ago and was now back.
“What would be my job?” she asked.
“You will be assigned to work with the family and especially with the son. The detective is trying to understand what happened to the boy after all those years.”
“Okay, then I will take the job,” Lydia informed her. “Can you tell me, who should I contact?”
The secretary gave her all the information Lydia needed and she closed the phone. Detective David Wilson was the policeman assigned to the case and Lydia was supposed to meet with her new clients in the morning.
The new opportunity lifted her spirit, but that night she woke up with a shocked and loud cry. She had awakened from a vivid and embarrassing dream. Lydia was terrified and panting all at once. Her body was still feeling the strong
