her a warm hug and a kiss on the lips. The young couple looked around to make sure the librarian hadnât seen them. He started putting his books in his book bag just as Julius walked up.
âAre you Denim Mitchell?â he asked nervously.
Denim smiled and held out her hand and said, âI am. And you must be Julius. Itâs nice to meet you.â
Julius placed his book bag on the chair and said, âItâs nice to meet you too.â
Denim pointed at Dré and said, âJulius, this is my boyfriend, André Patterson. Dré, this is Julius Graham, my new client.â
Julius shook Dréâs hand and said, âI know who you are. Youâve been on the cover of every newspaper in the state. You have some mad skills on the court.â
âThanks, Julius,â Dré humbly replied. âYouâre a freshman, right?â
âYeah.â
âYouâre tall for your age, and you have big hands. Do you play ball?â Dré asked.
âA little bit. Mostly around the neighborhood with friends.â
âYou should think about going out for the team.â
Flattered that Dré had made such a suggestion, Julius answered, âIâll think about it.â
âGood,â Dré answered before turning to give Denim one last kiss. âI hate to leave you two, but I have to go work out. Iâll see you later.â
Denim blushed and said, âHave a good workout.â
âI will,â he replied. âJulius, youâre in good hands, and take care of my girl for me while Iâm gone.â
Julius gave Dré one last handshake before he walked away and said, âIâll try.â
Denim turned to Julius and asked, âAre you ready to get started?â
âI guess,â he answered as he sat down and opened up his book.
âOkay, we have an hour, so show me what youâre studying in your class and what you have the most problem with, and weâll go from there.â
He smiled and began to show Denim his lesson plan. An hour later she felt like she had made a lot of progress with Julius.
âYou did great, Julius. Youâll have that A in no time.â
Julius gathered his books and said, âI hope so. I appreciate you helping me.â
âItâs my pleasure,â she answered as she checked her cell phone for messages.
âThanks again,â he said as he handed her the money to pay for his session.
She tucked the money into her pocket and said, âYou donât have to pay me daily if you donât want to. You can do whatever is easiest for you and your parents.â
âI know, but Iâd rather do it this way, if itâs okay with you.â
âCool,â she answered they walked toward the exit together. Once outside Julius noticed his father parked outside the school with Zakia.
âWell, thereâs my ride. Iâll see you Wednesday.â
âGood-bye, Julius.â
Julius watched Denim as she walked away, and couldnât help but admire her curvy figure. He knew admiring her was all he could do too, since she was the girlfriend of one of the most popular guys in school. Improving his grade in algebra should be easy with a tutor as pretty as Denim.
He opened the car door and climbed in next to his father. âHey, Dad.â
âHello, Julius. Was that your tutor walking with you?â he asked.
âYes, sir.â
He pulled away from the curb and said, âShe sure is pretty. I donât know how youâre going to learn anything working with her.â
Julius laughed and said, âThatâs true, but sheâs actually cool. I was able to concentrate.â
âSure you were,â Zakia teased her brother.
Julius rolled his eyes at his sister. âBe quiet, Zakia.â
She laughed and started singing along with a Rihanna song playing on the radio.
Mr. Graham smiled and said, âJulius, youâre my son, and I know you donât
