wants to see his woman standing by his side making just as much money, if not more."
I looked at my sister, and we both agreed by eye contact that it was time to go. The second we got to the truck, this bitch started talking shit. The spectators were watching with a few people taping to see what would happen. I saw Monty drinking a bottle of water staring at me. My phone rang 30 seconds later.
"You know you sexy as hell when you can put a bitch in her place without acting a fool?" Spring just shook her head looking down at her phone. He was on my Bluetooth through my truck.
"Yea, well she's lucky, because I don't tolerate disrespect well at all… from anyone."
"I see. What's up? Can I see you tonight?"
"I don't think that's a good idea. I have to prepare myself for tomorrow, and you have things to handle." I told him referring to that chick.
"I'll hit you up later then."
I disconnected the call. He was sexy and all, but who feels like dealing with all that? The next day, I was sitting in my office on a conference call when my secretary stepped in with a sticky note. I shook my head and placed the call on mute. He came in wearing some dark blue jeans, a black sweater, Giuseppe sneakers, and a pair of Tom Ford shades that sat on top of his head. There were diamonds shining in his ear. I pointed to the chair in front of my desk for him to take a seat.
"Hey lawyer friend." He came around the desk and placed a kiss on my lips. The cologne he wore smelled so good I could sniff him all day.
"How are you? What brings you by, and how did you know where I worked?"
"Here's your folder, and your business card is in there with your information. What? I can't come by and see my future girl?" I laughed, as I put my finger up and unmuted the phone to chime in.
"Yes, Mr. Williams, and we can't wait to do business with you as well." I said my goodbye and hung the phone up. His back was leaning against the window, and I was in between him.
"It's about time that man got with the program." My sister came busting through the door. Both of us let go of one another.
"My bad. I didn't know you had company."
"I just got here. Congratulations on whatever just happened. I'll see you later, Ma." He walked out of the office.
"B, what's up with that?"
"I don't know. He popped up to drop off this folder."
"You like him, don't you?"
"Yea, but I'm not beat for him and that girl’s nonsense. She'll make me go to jail and lose my shit over beating that ass."
"Then don't let her. If you feeling him, see where it takes you. If you just trying to get fucked, then do that too, but don't hold back because some chicken head is trying to wife a nigga. He doesn't seem to be too beat about her if he keeps sniffing around you."
What she said made sense. All I could do was go with the flow and see what happens from there.
Spring
Today, B and I were having a BBQ just because. We threw one once a month if the weather was good. She didn't feel like cooking, so we had Bella’s pizzeria and Tuzzios cater the food. The DJ was playing old and new school, and the liquor was overflowing. There were people from my job, a few from my college, and some clients. It was going smooth while B and I were smoking on the hookahs, when Monty and a few other dudes strolled up.
"Hey Monty." I spoke to him as he handed me some pineapple Ciroc and weed. A huge grin went across my face.
"This is Chase, Hitta, Star, and you know Javon." We both rolled our eyes at one another.
"Yo, can I use your bathroom?" The dude Chase said. This nigga look straight up like August Alsina, goatee, smile, and all. I don't know if it was the liquor or what, but dude had a hold on me when he spoke.
Yea. Let me show you where it's at." I opened the screen on the deck and closed it when he stepped in. He followed me to the back, and I pointed to the bathroom.
"Thanks, Ma." Damn, did they call everyone, Ma? Monty says the same shit to B. I have to admit, it sounds better coming out
