moment I met you, I knew there was
something special about you. I knew you were someone I couldn’t help but fall
in love with. That’s why I want to ask you a personal question.” Still holding
my hands, he bent down onto the ice and rested on one knee.
Wait — what?
“What’s going on?” I asked stupidly. Jason
blinked up at me. The situation was so absurd, and so unexpected, that I began
to laugh. Jason saw this and smiled.
“Sophia Fletcher.” Jason pulled a small box
out of his pocket and opened it, showing me a beautiful ring which brightly
reflected the white ice, the colorful holiday lights, and the colors of
sparkling fireworks above. “Will you marry me?”
Hot tears streamed down my face. I held my
hands over my mouth.
“Sophia?”
Whether a second or a minute had gone by, I wasn’t
sure. This was a moment frozen in time, disturbed only by the booming fireworks
above us.
I nodded. “Yes,” I managed to say
through tears and shock. “Yes, I’ll marry you.”
Jason got up off his knee and pulled me in for
a kiss, more powerful and intimate than the kiss moments ago.
Our first kiss as an engaged couple.
Jason’s soft lips commanded mine as his hand
slipped behind my head, pulling me closer.
I closed my eyes, savoring the kiss and
committing the moment to memory.
BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.
I wasn’t sure if those were fireworks or my
heart.
When we came up for air we looked into each
other’s teary eyes, we both giggled like teenagers up to no good.
“Have you been planning this?” I asked,
holding up my newly bejeweled finger.
Jason nodded. “For longer than you think. I
wasn’t expecting this.” He looked around the rink. “But it turned out
perfectly.”
I smiled. “You did it just in time.” I pulled
the box out from my purse and opened it. “Because if you waited a minute
longer, I would have done it for you.”
Jason smirked as he looked at the box. His
eyes flashed up to mine and he placed his hands on either side of my face.
“That’s why I fucking love you, Sophia.” He leaned in and kissed me.
I could barely pucker my lips because I was
smiling so much.
“What do you say we get out of here?” He
asked. I nodded. Holding hands, we skated around the rink one last time before
continuing the night.
The year was young.
~Chapter 5~
Jason and I couldn’t keep our hands off each
other once we were in the limo. There was something insanely sexy about being
engaged and knowing that we wanted to be with each other and no one else. First
Jason’s hands were on my waist and then they were massaging my breasts and
squeezing my backside. His hands were then in my hair, cradling my head,
pulling me towards him.
His kiss was electrifying, breathing new life
into me. I came alive and pushed him back, kissing him, touching him. He moaned
in ecstasy as I moved my lips along his stubble-covered chin.
The limo came to a stop and we were at the
courtyard party.
Jason looked at me, out of breath and hair
perfectly disheveled.
“We’re here.”
I could feel my hair and makeup were out of
order. I pulled my cocktail dress down over my thighs. We both smiled and
giggled before Jason moved in and kissed me one last time, slow and hot.
“I love kissing my fiancé,” I said, feeling
his smile as he pressed against my lips.
“Come on, let’s celebrate.”
“I thought we already were.”
Jason smiled again before grabbing my hand and
helping me out of the car.
Even though it was past midnight, the
courtyard party was loud and bright. Colorful lights shone in all directions,
whirling around like some sort of outdoor rave. A full piece band played not to
far from us, and in the distance I could hear a DJ playing some sort of trance
music.
Jason pulled me along and I stumbled behind
him in my tall heels which were harder to manage than the ice skates.
Everyone around us was dressed in fancy
cocktail dresses and suits. Many of them were wearing masks.
“What’s
