seen a porno flick. And yet thoughts of Mister Sun-god and her kept flashing through her consciousness. Without one bit of warning. It was so completely random. Out of left field. Out-of-character. And a few other clichéd bits of crap.
The rock came into focus beneath her hiking boots. Oh. Good. She hadn’t completely lost consciousness. Becky surreptitiously turned her wrist over and checked her watch. She seemed to have lost two-and-a-half hours up here.
    Two-and-a half hours?
How was that possible? And with the sequence of events, why did she even bother asking it? She’d stepped through some time portal or something. That was one explanation. Maybe it was the only one.
Mister Sun-god appeared at her feet. Crouched on one knee. That put one of his legs on perfect view in absolutely perfect masculine definition. Oh. Holy shit. Again. The guy should have some kind of warning on him somewhere.
    “Becky?”
He knew her name? What the hell was going on? Becky lifted her chin. Viewed all that god-like perfection, before getting snagged immediately by his sky blue eyes. But that didn’t keep her from seeing something even more unfathomable.
    Mister Sun-god had fangs.

CHAPTER FOUR
She felt good in his arms.
Mikhal would have preferred her conscious, however. Her golden eyes open and devouring him as they had been, but he wasn’t quibbling. He was too overcome. Excited. Amazed. And grateful. He tightened his hold and ran faster, dodging outcroppings of rough rock, debris, foliage, and decay, desperate to reach the opening to his tunnel. It was disguised as another dark alcove in a never-ending series of them. He slapped at a lever with his foot, unwilling to remove a bit of contact with her. The boulder that blocked access slowly grated open. He hadn’t noticed that earlier. It must need maintenance. He made a mental note before plunging into the blackness.
Mikhal raced down steps, his legs pumping as he took corner after corner. The woman in his arms didn’t hamper anything. He thoroughly enjoyed the sensation of her weight. He tightened his hold and ran faster. She mustn’t wake to darkness and disuse. At the very least, he wanted to reach the carved and decorated walls of his temple abode.
Her eyes were still closed as the steps ended. They’d reached the plaza in a large cavern with a high arched corbelled ceiling. He’d carved it over the centuries, and then covered the walls with sun disks of hammered gold. Then he’d peopled it with statuary from all over the Andes. Every size and design of statue lined both sides of the cavern, mostly covered in gold. Some even embellished with silver and gemstones of every description and size. Niches ran the length of the corridor, too, filled with more of the same, only in smaller sizes. He’d gathered and hidden all these riches because it gave meaning to an otherwise meaningless existence. Now, it failed to arouse the slightest interest.
    Because of her.
    His mate.
And by the mercy of the sun god, Inti, he’d found her!
He felt like lifting his head in homage. Raising his voice in song. Spinning in adulatory dance. He couldn’t believe he’d ever thought her plain. Spindly. Or anything other than wondrously beautiful. Lush. And absolutely perfect. He couldn’t wait to see her ensconced in the room he’d created for her. Lined with sheets of hammered gold and adorned with gems. It was the perfect setting. And it matched her eyes.
    Ah! Her eyes!
She had the most amazing amber eyes. Their impact was especially vivid if she opened them wide. That’s exactly when he’d known. The moment he’d received her stunned response to his grin. She’d gaped at him wide-eyed, turned his world upside-down, and then it had happened in the physical realm. The earth about them stirred, as if the mountain goddess had needed to take a breath.
Mikhal had been through numerous earthquakes. One had toppled part of his astral observatory centuries ago. Another had taken out
