moved her mouth over his chin and she sucked her own taste from him, heat pooled low in his belly.
“Fuck, be careful how you wield that,” he warned her.
“Wield what?” she asked, appearing confused.
“That sexy, wanton power you hold over me. I’m primed to burst already. You push me any further and I bloody well won’t care half the cavalry is here. I’ll lean you against this tree and fuck you blind in front of every man and woman present, professionalism and our reputations be damned.”
Katherine’s eyes widened, though Garth knew enough about her now to sense the desire his words elicited. She couldn’t fool him any longer. She might be surprised, but she wasn’t offended or turned off. Indeed, he could swear the gleam in her dark eyes indicated willing consent and interest, not revulsion.
“Welcome to the dark side, Kate,” he grinned evilly at her. Kissing her one last time, he checked that his rumpled, stained shirt covered his groin and stood up, gallantly offering her a hand for assistance. He helped her to her feet, brushed the grass from her mussed hair and gave her arse and one breast a squeeze each.
“Don’t make me wait too long,” he murmured as six cars raced into the car park. Doors slammed as agents spilled out everywhere. “I’m hot and hard for you, sweetheart. Next chance we get I won’t be such a gentleman. I’ll fuck you raw and keep going until you plead for mercy.”
“Promises, promises,” she replied with a grin. Garth felt rich, utterly masculine satisfaction roll through his blood. His prick ached, he needed release or he was sure to explode. For all her prim, by-the-book external preachings, Katherine Hitchens appeared to be a seriously kinky soul.
He loved that. Indeed, he could see himself becoming addicted to her.
Life had just got incredibly interesting.

Katherine’s body still hummed hours later as they finished a quick dinner of takeout, greasy boxes lying scattered over her and Tarek’s desks. She and Garth had eaten fast from necessity. Other agents could smell fresh takeout from two floors in either direction, and came running to steal what they could.
“So, I’ve set the laptop to scan the frequency you’ve mentioned for activity every thirty seconds,” Scott said as he ran a hand through his scruffy red hair. Tall and skinny, he was the Agency’s best tech. Katherine was glad they’d managed to bribe him with a chocolate milkshake.
Katherine and Garth leaned close as they watched the small screen of the slim laptop. Scott showed them how to run the scan and how to search different frequencies and change the parameters, should they need to widen their net. He then flicked a switch and explained the tracing unit he’d factored in to the scanner.
“It’s similar enough to your average GPS device, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to work with,” Scott added with pride.
Katherine tried to keep her mind focused but it was impossible with Garth so close. On a subconscious level, she retained Scott’s advice, warnings and explanations, but, had she needed to recite his words back, she’d have been lost.
She imagined she could smell her musky scent on Garth’s lips. His cologne was something elemental and masculine, spicy and intriguing. She wanted to touch him, taste him, strip him bare as he had done so easily to her out in the park. Garth nudged her and she came back to their cubicle with a snap.
“I believe that’s a detailed enough explanation for now, thank you, Scott,” Garth said.
Picking up the thread of conversation once again, Katherine nodded.
“Yes, thank you,” she added, in what she hoped was a calm tone. “We don’t want to cramp the night shift’s groove. I think we’ll head back to my apartment soon. Can you stay on call?”
A distasteful grimace crossed Scott’s face.
“Sure thing. I guess I can trust you to not call me out six times through the evening because you’re too simple-minded
