made him want to get to know her better physically and emotionally, not picture her with another man.
“Is—is that okay with you?” she asked softly.
Hell no, it wasn’t okay with him, but he couldn’t very well say that.  “Why wouldn’t it be?  But why not work out your issues with him?  Have you told him…”  Her averted gaze was her answer.  “You haven’t, have you?”
    “No.”
    “Why not?”
“I have my reasons.  I don’t have to explain them to you.  If that’s a deal breaker, then fine, but—”
“Shhh.  It’s okay.  It’s not a deal breaker.”  In fact, it pleased him.  If she didn’t trust this guy enough to tell him what she’d told Noah or to let him help her through her fears, that meant there was still hope.
If he was honest with himself, he was going to sleep with her whether there was hope or not—he wasn’t an idiot—but the possibility of having more than just one night with her was also its own motivator.
Lately, even before he’d ever met Jenna, he’d started to yearn for something besides random sexual acts with women who knew the score and would move on the same way he did.  Seeing his friend Luke with his new wife Sarah made him jealous for the intimacy they shared, not sexual intimacy but the intimacy that comes with living with someone day in and day out, seeing both their worst flaws as well as their best attributes.  He wanted to know this woman’s flaws and he knew somehow they’d just make him want her more.
That’s what told him this was about more than sex.  At least, it would be for him.  But he’d give her the sex she needed, the sex she was asking for, and he’d make sure it was damn good for her.  Maybe it would even be good enough that she’d forget all about this other man.
“So, how do you want to do this?  Should I—should I take off my clothes?”  The way she wrung her hands together evidenced her distress at that idea.
As much as he wanted to see her naked, Noah shook his head.  “Nope.  But I’ll take off mine if you’re okay with it.”
That obviously surprised her.  “Why—why not the both of us?  Don’t you—”
He snorted.  “Please.  If I wanted you any more, I’d embarrass myself.  But I also want to give you the help you’ve asked me for.  Crash course in getting to know each other physically, remember?  And I think it might help you relax some if you get to know me first.  If you see me vulnerable before you feel any more so.  Am I right?”
She stared at him in amazement.
“What?  Why are you looking at me that way?”
“It’s just, I must be dreaming.  We’re being so civilized, talking about sleeping together when we barely know anything about each other.”
“That’s not so unusual.  Haven’t you ever had a one night stand?”
“Once.  A few years ago.  It wasn’t pleasant.”
“Well, that’s not going to be the case with us.  I’ve wanted you from the moment I saw you.  If this is what you need from me, I’m happy to help out.  In fact, I guarantee it will be a pleasurable experience for both of us.”
She smiled slightly, and the expression, freely given, was enough to make his knees tremble.  “You guarantee it, huh?”
    “Absolutely.”
Her expression grew solemn again.  “Just so you know, I’m not looking for pleasure.  I—I’m not sure I’m even capable of…you know.”
Yeah, he was pretty sure he did.  The idea that she’d never climaxed during sex was mind-boggling information.  “That’s a damn shame.  But fair warning, whether you’re looking for it or not, I’m going to give it to you anyway.”  He cocked a brow.  “So should I undress?”
She hesitated.  Took several breaths.  Then nodded.  “Okay.  That would be… nice.”
She didn’t sound like she believed that, but she was putting on such a brave front.  Suppressing a smile, Noah stripped slowly but deliberately.   He wanted to ask more
