confusion, not used to dealing with so many strong emotions
at once.  His face was stone but he knew she could read his emotions.
His compassionate sorrow that she had lost her whole race, and the anger
at the idea of slavery.
Shit, they had figured out it was wrong a long time ago, at
least in his country they had.  For the most part.  There would
always be sick bastards but at least it was against the law.  He dropped
his jaw when she offered to take him home.  No way was he letting her go
to that ship alone, he was a better man than that, or at least, he thought he
was.
“I am coming with you, forget taking me home.  Besides,
you said you were mine…”
He trailed off and winked suggestively, trying to use humor
to defuse so many high running emotions.  He wondered if she would
understand that though.  She was an alien after all.  Even if she
looked like a super model that actually has tits.  He was relieved when
she smiled.  She was in his head after all, so she would know what he
meant by things.  Even obscure expressions he imagined.
She opened a slot in the wall and pulled out a uniform, it
was form fitting.  She also gave him a hand weapon.  Looked like one
of those mini phasers from the old space shows, where you held it between thumb
and forefinger, just squeeze it and it fires.
He asked, “Where’d this stuff come from?”
She arched a brow, “You saw the big warehouses, I am a being,
so I need to carry around the stuff not part of me in there that a crew
needs.  I got all your specifications from my scans and had the new suit
built.  That is a nerve stunner.  If you hit someone with it they
will be paralyzed and unable to move for a few hours.  The suit itself
will protect you from most energy attacks, although not all.”
He smiled in thought which made her arch a brow.
“I am just glad I will be useful in more ways than one, even
sex would get old if that’s all you did day in and day out.  Humans are
jaded that way.”
She smiled, “Thank you Bill, be careful.  This avatar
is expendable.”  She kissed him slowly, “You are not.”
He wondered at her very caring bearing, almost as if she
loved him or something already.  He was quite fond of her right now but
wasn’t that just a little fast?
“Let’s get going, I assume shoot first and ask questions
later.”
    Ariella giggled and nodded.
Well that was disturbing, a giggling ship.  He wondered
how much being in a human form influenced her thinking.  He was not
surprised when she answered his questioning thought.
Ariella said, “Well in my avatar I have human instincts,
even humor and all the emotions.  On the other hand I still have thousands
of years of wisdom and being what I am.  So it has an impact on my
responses, especially in this form.  Also we are not quite so different as
you would think.  I love and felt loyalty to my crew long before I assumed
this form.  I get angry and sad, feel hatred, and crave revenge against
wrongs.  We are more alike than not.
“The Demonae have the ability to control others, especially
during sexual intercourse.  The Elvii are empaths that can detect emotion,
those are the ones I believe are enslaved.  The Angilli, who rule this
area of space are mind readers.  But don’t worry too much, my race can
both read minds and emotions, and we can block control as well for the people
connected to us.
“But deep down, we all long for security, we all have
emotions.  Let’s go get that information.”
He nodded and said, “Lead the way.”
He felt his body lock up and freeze, white light surrounded
him and suddenly he found himself elsewhere.  He almost screamed when he
saw his first Demonae, right down the hall.  His reflexes saved him as his
hand came up and he pushed the button, a line of blue particles struck the
Demonae and he fell to the floor.
He studied it.  It looked like a demon from earth’s
religions or myths even.  Red skin, black eyes, horns and
