be on the market yet!” When I turn to look at Joey, he has the biggest grin on his face and is looking past me. I turn to see what he is looking at, and this time I do drop the bottle, but not before Blake catches it.
I stand and stare right into those dreamy eyes. “Are you kidding me? Are you stalking me?” I accuse him.
He laughs and places the bottle back on the table. “No, Angelica, I am not stalking you. I just happened to see you walk into my brother’s club and I wanted to come and say hello,” he says with a grin.
“Your brother’s club?” I reply. He nods, and from behind me, I hear Joey stand up and come next to me.
“Hello,” he greets Blake as he puts his hand out. Blake stares at him for a little too long, then grabs his hand rather firmly, and shakes it.
    “Hello,” Blake replies.
Once I’m done staring at the rather odd exchange, I clear my throat. “Joey, this is Mr. Harper, a new client at W.H. Advertising. Mr. Harper, this is my best friend Joey.” Both men nod at one another. I sense Joey is going into protective mode. His normal smile is gone and he’s thrown his arm over my shoulder, letting it hang down to my chest. I know he’s doing this on purpose. Blake’s eyes darken a shade as he sees Joey’s hand fall and brush against the top of my breast.
“Angelica, if I may, could I possibly speak to you in private?” he asks me. I stare at him, but he has the upper hand here and he knows it. I can’t just brush him off. Bill would be so disappointed if we lost this because of me. Ugh, fuck!
I nod and step out of Joey’s arm. “I’ll be right back.” He just gives me a nasty look. I roll my eyes at him then turn and let Blake lead the way. He has me walk in front of him as he guides me with a hand on my lower back and one on my elbow. I shiver at the touch and hear him laugh. Damn it, I can’t play it cool to save my life. Why did he have to touch me? He has such big hands, and they are so warm through the material of my dress. God, what they must feel like elsewhere.
We walk around the loud club with the eyes of every woman on us. An extremely handsome man leading a young woman to the back of the club, I would probably think the same scandalous things. Shit, I’m hoping that might happen. I follow him blindly because this is probably work related and I can’t let Bill down. We walk past a small bar in the back of the club then go through a set of doors. Once through, the music is gone. It’s quiet as we walk down a short hallway into what I assume is an office, which is oddly welcoming. It’s painted a warm brown and the walls are covered in book shelves. God, it’s like I walked into a dream. I love reading; it’s an obsession Joey says. I’ve never met someone who loves it as much as I do.
I absentmindedly make my way to the shelves and start to skim the titles – all the greats, mainly old English literature. I feel him walk behind me, not touching me, but his heat is radiating around me and I’m instantly aroused and covered in goose bumps. I turn to look at him, to capture in all of his features. We stare at each other. How can one man be so fine? He has to be at least 6’2”. His body is pure muscle, and I bet he even has that V. Ugh, that’s hot. His skin is such a beautiful light tan color, one that is bronzed all year long I’m sure. His hair is a very light brown, long enough to run my hands through and pull. It sits atop his head in that messy yet perfect kind of way. He’s wearing dress pants and a long sleeve button-up that is rolled to his elbows. The top two buttons are undone, letting me glance at his very firm chest.
I lick my lips then drag my bottom lip between my teeth. It’s then I hear a pure carnal groan come out of his mouth. Before I have time to react, his mouth is on me. It possesses mine, so fierce and commanding, but never hurting me. I instantly let down my guard and give him back everything he is giving me. I open my mouth
